Imagine you're WWE management. You've reached the end of WrestleMania 32, a very long and difficult show. A lot of the matches haven't been great, and most of the booking decisions have, at best, confused your audience, and at worst, outright frustrated them. They're annoyed and exhausted. Now you have the main event that nobody asked for: Roman Reigns vs. Triple H. Roman is not well-liked by the fans, and he's been getting booed week in-and-week-out. WrestleMania is a hardcore hotbed. They will most surely boo him there as well.

Now, given all these circumstances, it would be prudent to have a fast-paced, short and sweet main event that, if nothing else, gets Roman his win, shows off his power moves, and gets things over with.

What does WWE actually do in this situation?

Trot Roman out to have a 27-minute resthold-fest with Triple H in front of an increasingly irate and hostile crowd, of course!

In one of the most stunning displays of tone-deafness and defiance, WWE capped off their punishingly-long WrestleMania with one of the most plodding title matches in recent memory. Triple H was absolutely not the opponent suited for Reigns' strengths, and it just reinforced more and more the idea in fans' minds that he wasn't the guy.

But hey, he accidentally speared Stephanie through a table. Yay?
