10 Worst WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2010s
8. Batista (February-March 2010)
While Sheamus needed Money in the Bank to cut short the reign of a top babyface, Batista just needed to be Batista.
At Elimination Chamber 2010, John Cena won the titular match to become WWE Champion for just the sixth time.
This brought out none other than Vince McMahon. Furious that Cena had shown compassion to Raw General Manager (and his upcoming WrestleMania opponent) Bret Hart, the Chairman announced that the exhausted new champion would be making his first defence right then and there.
Out came The Animal and, within a minute, the belt belonged to him.
This was all done to give Cena a big match at WrestleMania XXVI. The two OVW graduates went toe-to-toe at The Showcase of the Immortals and, predictably, the babyface came out on top. Batista was only ever a transitional champion, but this reign still underwhelmed. He was given just 35 days and no real ammunition to prove himself, serving as little more than an inconvenience in Cena's life.
Considering this was to be the final world title reign in the future Hollywood star's illustrious career, he definitely deserved better.
