10 Worst WWE Intercontinental Champions Of All Time

9. The Texas Tornado

There was a time when Kerry Von Erich would have made for a fine WWF Intercontinental Champion, but 1990 wasn't it. It's upsetting to think of the personal trouble and depression Von Erich was going through during his stint in the company, because years earlier he was one of wrestling's best performers.

Defeating Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam '90, the re-dubbed 'Texas Tornado' would only keep the title warm for Curt Hennig's character before dropping it back to him a few months later. What surely should have been just another high point in Kerry's career turned into one of his last, and his run with the belt was nothing to write home about.

The combination of Von Erich's own tragic life and the WWF's confusing need to cast him as a temporary champion produced a pointless title change and inconsequential run. Then, to top it all off, the Intercontinental Title was put back on the same guy who had it before Kerry anyway.

84 days long or not, the Tornado's stint with the IC strap did nothing for either him or belt.
