6. The Fiend Vs. Braun Strowman - SummerSlam

One would rather take a zipper to the urethra than ever watch another Bray Wyatt Vs. Braun Strowman disaster.

This was the best and most traditional match of a series so phenomenally awful that people go on like the SmackDown product of recent months is prime Mid-South Wrestling. It isn't. But by Christ does it look like it compared to the pretentious amateurish drivel of that anti-wrestling programme.

The brawling here was so uninspired and so dangerous in such a drab way. There was no adrenalising spike in violent drama; after a sluggish walk-and-brawl, the Fiend dropped Strowman with Sister Abigail in gorilla, opening up a hole in his head. A senseless spot neither built nor registered as a big moment we should have cared about, it's impossible to know what to care about in general as it pertains to the Fiend. What hurts him? Where is he vulnerable?

Why are his matches just a collection of random spots with no traceable psychology when I've been told for years by this f*cking company that they tell "stories"?

At the finish, Strowman withdrew a box cutter and tore up the ring canvas. Dumbsh*t took too long and was met with a clumsy Sister Abigail struck away from the hard camera. Sake. It's always good, isn't it, when at the end of a three-match series, someone only wins because the other guy is a moron?

Then again, since this moron was Braun "I'll never negotiate with AEW, Vince, pay these hands the going rate!" Strowman, perhaps there was some psychology to it, after all.
