10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2003

Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff would probably tell you they had a hoot working as co-General Managers on Raw in 2003. They'd been rivals in a squash match during Austin's return (following a tense 2002 exit) at No Way Out, but now here they were co-existing as dual show runners on Monday nights. All sorts of hilarious scrapes and jams would follow, right? Right?!

Sort of, but an awful lot of that jam had gone mouldy. At Bad Blood in June, Austin and the Bisch competed in what was billed as "Redneck Triathlon". It included a burping contest, pie eating contest and a singing contest. Yes, people were expected to throw down hard-earned dollars to see this on pay-per-view. Praise the wrestling lords for Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair on that show to give it some value.

The burping stuff was bad enough. Then, Austin forfeited the pie eating contest after Mae Young performed a bronco buster on Bischoff. Because he could, Austin hit Mae with a stunner afterwards. Later, the singing contest was changed to a “pigpen contest”, and peaked with Austin throwing Eric into the pen so he could be covered in poop.

"Bischoff Is Poopy" signs popped up everywhere. OK, not really.

Clearly, this was a horrible waste of PPV minutes. People paid for this, and they might as well have flushed their cash down the toilet instead. This was a poor period for 'Stone Cold' generally. He'd lost all of his menace, and the comedy skits didn't land the same way they had alongside Vince McMahon, Kurt Angle and Debra in 2001 either.
