The next couple of entries are appalling. Simply appalling. Sure, some of the stuff you've just been reading about should cause heads to hang in shame amongst WWE writers of the time, but things hadn't exactly peaked on the Muhammad Hassan front in 2004. Unfortunately, they'd come to a head with Lita and Kane in one of the most grotesque storylines ever printed on headed paper and handed to wrestlers.

Lita revealed she was pregnant on the 26 July 2004 Raw. At first, her boyfriend Matt Hardy was over the moon, but then things soured once Kane claimed he was the father of the child. That, naturally, led to a blood feud with Matt. Kane beat Hardy in a ’Till Death Do Us Part’ match at SummerSlam, and it seemed like he was indeed the dad after all.

WWE set up a mock wedding between the "happy couple", but Lita was painfully detached throughout the whole episode. On commentary, the announcers openly discussed how Kane had forcibly impregnated his spawn into the female star in a bid to create his own mini-demon. How lovely. Imagine explaining that story to pals at school or work who weren't wrestling fans?!

Unthinkably, things would get even more offensive as the weeks and months ticked by. WWE's writing team didn't stop short at Kane implying that he'd raped Lita so she could give birth to his child. They could've, but they didn't. That wasn't nearly enough OTT soap opera-style chaos for the company.

You won't believe what they did next...
