10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2007

2. Little Hornswoggle McMahon

Earlier, it was said that Edge's loss was The Great Khali's gain. The same could be said for Mr. Kennedy's loss the same year. Final Cruiserweight Champ and perpetual comedic menace Hornswoggle hoovered up his glory by becoming the new figurehead in one of WWE's biggest storylines. Kennedy was supposed to be outed as Vince's illegitimate son, but his suspension changed everything.

How they landed on wee Swoggle as a pivot is enough to drive one mad, but WWE tried to go the 'ha ha' route with it. McMahon was embarrassed as Triple H pointed a finger at him and laughed, and lil' Horny jigged about the place upon realising that he could, in theory, become the next 'Million Dollar Man'. Company credit cards, private jets and more would be waiting for him.

In February 2008, Vince grew bored of working the comedy bits with Swoggle and had JBL reveal that he was actually Finlay's boy instead. That neutered a grand announcement on the 10 September '07 Raw previously, but it handily mopped up a problem that had been burning WWE's creative brains for months.

Even so, whomever suggested that Hornswoggle sub in for Kennedy should've been told to get out. In fact, get the 'f' out.

Arguably the most puzzling thing about Swoggle's presentation is that he was clearly an adult man who was portrayed as a child because of his height. That sustained even when he was by Finlay's side - WWE acted like Hornswoggle was some 8 year old kid, one who'd later devour bird-based mascots.

What a time to be alive. Unless you're 'Swagger's Soaring Eagle', that is.
