10 Worst WWE PPV Endings Ever
2. Great American Bash 2004
Looking back at the 2004 Great American Bash isn't pretty. A SmackDown-brand pay-per-view, it was the night JBL defeated Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship (in a Texas Bullrope match, no less), while the undercard featured singles wins for Kenzo Suzuki, Luther Reigns and Mordecai. That should tell you all you need to know about the strength (or lack thereof) of the blue brand's roster at the time.
The best was saved for the main event, although by 'best' I mean 'dirt worst'. The Undertaker took on both Dudley Boyz in a 'Handicap Concrete Crypt' match, a ridiculous concept that hasn't aged well at all. The basic premise, if it deserves the term, was that Paul Bearer would be buried in concrete if 'Taker won. Yeah, you read that right.
What happened? Well, The Undertaker did indeed win, overcoming one of the greatest tag teams of all time all on his own, before pulling the lever himself and burying Paul Bearer in cement. Even for WWE, this was particularly stupid. Ignoring the concrete side of it all, the pay-per-view ended with your number one babyface murdering his own manager, by choice. Eh?!
Needless to say, Paul Bearer returned to WWE TV a few years later. Maybe it took six years of post-concrete rehab for him to be well enough to return? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
