10 Worst WWE Royal Rumble Winners Ever
6. Lex Luger & Bret Hart (1994)
If Bret had won this one outright then there would be no reason at all for this one to be included. As you can see, Bret did not win this match outright;: instead, he had to share the podium with personality vacuum Lex Luger. The concept of both men holding claim to the win could have been interesting... but it wasn't.
This did lead to Owen vs. Bret at WrestleMania X, the greatest 'Mania opener ever, as well as the elder Hart going on to avenge the travesty that was WrestleMania IX by beating Yokozuna for the WWF Championship in the main event. Without the dual-winner nonsense, Hart probably wouldn't be pulling double duty, and we wouldn't have got the Owen/Bret masterpiece.
Therefore, 1994 would end up on a list of best Rumble winners had it not been for the pointless inclusion of poor Lex, who was beaten by Yokozuna in between Bret's two bouts. He just never clicked as that infallible babyface, despite the company's efforts to make him the next leader of the business. Wow, getting major deja vu right now...
