You may have heard of this one. While WWE today is so politically correct that they may as well be Highlights Magazine (with some hypocritical exceptions here and there), there was a time where the ascent of a popular wrestler was marred by alarming ugliness. In building their World Heavyweight title bout, Triple H referenced Booker T's legitimate criminal past, told him "people like you" didn't win World titles, then asked Booker to 'dance' for his amusement. The story could have perhaps been salvaged had Booker gone over at 'Mania. Harley Race, on Vader's behalf, made uneasy remarks toward Ron Simmons in 1992, and Simmons shut him up by winning the WCW Championship from Vader, thus the bigot got his comeuppance. But no, Triple H won cleanly, and the sour taste didn't wash easy.
