9. Jean-Pierre LaFitte
A feud against Jean-Pierre LaFitte remains one of the most anaemic of Bret Hart's entire career. In 1995, the rivalry between both men revolved around the idea that LaFitte was stealing 'Hitman' style sunglasses from fans around ringside. From there, he progressed to stealing Hart's trademark ring jacket, which is certainly a unique concept for a wrestling feud. It was also a supremely dull one, and an auspicious start for the wrestling pirate. Previously, LaFitte had been known simply as Pierre, one half of The Quebecers tag-team alongside Jacques Rougeau. The combination won the WWF Tag-Team Titles, but that would be the last real success for Pierre once the unit disbanded in 1994. Brought back under the guise of a sea-faring warrior in '95, the gimmick was tailor made for the time. That's not to say it was successful. The mid-90's was a strange time for the WWF, and Vince McMahon didn't really know which direction to take things. Jean-Pierre was a more-than-decent worker, but he was hampered by a cartoon-like gimmick that did nothing for him. The character was short-lived, being discarded by the end of the year.
