WWE like to think of WrestleMania as a season finale that ties up the biggest stories whilst conveniently setting up the rest of the year. In 2018, that was the impression given when body-proud babyface Nia Jax beat pint-sized bully Alexa Bliss to become the new Raw Women's Champion.

A few months later, Nia found the proverbial rug pulled from beneath her feet and landed squarely on her a*se back at square one. WWE ignored their own inspirational storyline to turn Jax heel for Ronda Rousey, and it was kind of jarring to watch. It also made what happened at 'Mania ultimately futile.

Whether it's Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Ronda Rousey or whichever other female WWE put their chips behind in 2019, it should be viewed as compulsory that said woman bosses the remainder of the year. No deviation, no knee-jerk reactions and no unnecessary turning for the bloody sake of it.
