10 Wrestlers Accused Of Stealing Another Wrestler’s Looks

1. The Shield (From Wes Bisco And The Aces & Eights)

When it comes to the most successful WWE stable of modern times, few could argue with The Shield being ranked in first place. As a unit, the trio absolutely decimated any star or team who stood before them. Then, post-dramatic split, each man went on to carve out a compelling singles career for themselves, earning Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble, and world title wins along the way.

However, former TNA wrestler Wes Brisco isn't convinced that this WWE creation was a completely original idea. Whilst speaking on the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast, the star noted that his old Aces & Eights squad on TNA stuck together, entered through the crowd and wore masks just like The Shield ultimately did.

In Brisco's own words:

“All those guys that we were together with, we stuck together, we hung out together, we were together; I mean, we took this (seriously). We wanted to be very successful, (and) we wanted to treat it like it was our baby, our opportunity to set an example and create something totally different.”

"Because if you look at it, that's what started The Shield because of us. If you really look at it, we started before The Shield even came through the crowd, we had the mask on, (and) basically, (they did) the exact same thing."

Though the elements Brisco mentions here definitely can be seen as similarities when discussing the two units, the resemblance largely ends there. That's not to say that the three up-and-coming 'Hounds of Justice' didn't take inspiration from the once-popular TNA faction, but to describe their execution and presentation as the "exact same thing" seems a little bit off, in all honesty.
