10 Wrestlers Accused Of Stealing Another Wrestler’s Looks
5. Goldberg (From Stone Cold Steve Austin)
Unlike the majority of the other entries on this list, here we have an example of a wrestler being called out for stealing another performer's look by the fans watching the product and not the star from whom the get-up in question was thieved.
After WWE found themselves a new bonafide megastar in the bald headed, goatee boasting, black trunk wearing Stone Cold Steve Austin during the mid-'90s, WCW also just so happened to bring a bald headed, goatee boasting, black trunk wearing badass of their own into the mix. Fans quickly spotted the visual similarities between Goldberg and 'The Texas Rattlesnake', though, and would accuse WCW of stealing Austin's look and using it for 'Da Man' for years to come. This still didn't stop big Bill from becoming an absolute hit, mind you.
Though Goldberg himself would deny these accusations, telling CBS Sports' In This Corner podcast, "I've said it before and I'll say it again: I never copied a damn thing from Steve Austin", the WCW icon also admitted in that same conversation that he "took cues from his rise to better help (him) in (his) preparation for (his) hopeful rise."
You'll be pleased to know, however, that since the days of the Monday Night Wars, the two superstars have actually become buddies in real-life. Goldberg even revealed recently that the pair now try to inform each other when somebody mistakes them for the other for a laugh.
