10 Wrestlers AEW Has Given Up On

2. Paul Wight

Weeeeeeeeeell...

...so much for that. The artist formerly known as Big Show was a notable WWE > AEW jump in February 2021, and everyone was tripping over themselves in the wrestling media to point out that Paul Wight would be commentating and working matches for the organisation.

He's worked three matches, and exactly zero of them have been essential viewing. Two of them have also happened on the peripheral Dark: Elevation show, so most grappling fans probably missed them completely (be honest). Perhaps only that three minute win over QT Marshall at All Out stole any attention, and even that was greeted like a popcorn fart after the initial hype about Wight's in-ring AEW debut had died down.

The giant hasn't moved the needle in All Elite at all; his commentary work is passable but flies under the radar, and it already looks like Khan's league doesn't view him as anything more than a token attraction. That's what he was doing in WWE anyway.
