10 Wrestlers AEW Must Push In 2022
4. Brian Cage
Where oh where has 'The Machine' run off to?
The most jacked high flyer there ever was has been MIA for too long now and is dearly missed. Rumours have abounded of late that Cage is monumentally unhappy with his spot on the AEW roster. Industry oracles like Konnan have even prophesied a WWE defection for Lucha Underground's favourite gym rat.
It's incredibly rare to watch such an... enhanced athlete pull off moonsaults, hurricanranas and other crowdpleasers with such ease. It's what sets Cage apart from everyone else in wrestling right now.
In 2020, the former Impact World Champion debuted to solid fanfare in AEW. He was hotshotted into the world title picture as a dragon for then-champ Jon Moxley to slay. Despite the high profile start, Cage has since floundered as an All Elite roster member. He has been on the losing end of nearly program he's been involved with and now, having left Team Taz, is completely absent from TV.
Assuming he and the AEW top brass can figure something out, a return and push for Brian Cage in 2022 could be very entertaining. He's a passable promo with an amazing moveset and larger-than-life look and presence. While world title plans for the big man might be a stretch right now, he could easily make for a great TNT Champion in the coming months.
