10 Wrestlers And Their Biggest Fears
2. John Cena And Acrophobia
There are few frontiers left for John Cena to explore in WWE, which is perhaps why he's largely avoided the company spotlight in recent memory. The 16-time world champion has enjoyed a remarkable career that's taken him through the "Ruthless Aggression", "PG", "Reality" and "New" eras. That's a lot of eras. While not quite the wrestling equivalent of shifting from the abacus to the iPhone, a transition like that is bound to confuse and startle a 20-year veteran like "Big Match John". Just eat your pudding, John.
Although Cena's not exactly known for his high spots, he's no stranger to the top rope, especially when dropping his jorts-covered leg on an opponent's neck. The Cenation Leader's willingness to launch himself into harm's way is remarkable considering he's labelled himself as "deathly afraid of heights." With that in mind, nobody can begrudge Cena for adjusting his attitude towards a safer profession, at least when he's away from a WWE ring.
Yet even as an actor Cena's been forced to face down his nasty fear of heights. In a 2011 interview with WWE, Cena described filming the forgettable action movie The Reunion, in which he performed a dramatic stunt that involved jumping off a 60-foot cliff. According to Cena, he hated every moment of it. You wish you couldn't see it, John, but that memory's etched in your brain forever.
