10 Wrestlers That Have Held The WWE Title The Most Times
3. Triple H (8)
Triple H has wrestled virtually everybody that has been in the main event picture over the last fifteen years; partially because he has large masses of power behind the scenes, but mostly because he is that damn good. Who would have thought the guy that emerged on the scene in 1995, waffling on about courtesy and etiquette in a terrible British accent had eight titles in him? Triple H defeated Mankind on an episode of Raw to pick up his first title back in 1999; this would prove to be Foleys last ever title success, as he would be forced to retire after losing a stipulation WWE title match against The Game at the No Way Out PPV the following year. It was within the year 2000, that Hunter would establish himself as the biggest heel in the company, having long-standing feuds with both The Rock and Stone Cold. By 2008 the Cerebral Assassin had truly cemented his legacy with an impressive 210 day title reign. He was a dominant champion and had some of the most highly intense feuds, against a very ferocious roster. His matches against Jeff Hardy at No Mercy and John Cena at Night of Champions from that run are essential viewing for any wrestling fan.
