10 Wrestlers Next In Line To Win WWE Championship
9. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens has been in the WWE for over a decade now, and fans would be forgiven for not remembering that The Prizefighter has not held a world championship in over five years. Following his embarrassing Universal Title loss to Goldberg in Saudi Arabia, KO has not held either the WWE or Universal Championship since, despite being constantly near the main event scene.
With solid rivalries against the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and life long friend Sami Zayn, fans may expect KO to ride out his time in WWE. Nobody would be upset with the former NXT Champion, who after 22 years in the wrestling industry could possibly be winding down his highly successful career. That would be a mistake, as it is not a wild statement to say Kevin Owens has been better than ever following his match with Stone Cold Steve Austin, which was the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 38.
Despite not coming out on top, the Manitoba native has reminded fans that he is one of the best in the world, and a perennial contender for any championship. Even though he has never won the WWE's top prize, it would not be a shock at all to see The Prizefighter hoist the WWE Championship at least once before he hangs up his boots.
