10 Wrestlers NJPW Should Consider For Next Year's G1 Tournament

8. Jay Lethal

It's mad to think that Jay Lethal is only 33 years of age. From TNA's X-division to the ROH World Title, Lethal has seemingly done everything in the American independent scene, and he arguably hasn't even reached his peak as a wrestler.

Lethal is no stranger to New Japan either. As ROH Champion in 2016, he was able to defend the title for the first time in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 10. Thanks to New Japan's affiliation with ROH, he also became an associate of Tetsuya Naito's Los Ingobernables De Japon stable, though that alliance was short-lived.

Since then, Lethal hasn't had much interaction with New Japan, save for the roster members who appear on ROH shows. He defended the ROH title in 2016 against Michael Elgin, a man who has since become a regular in G1 action. With that in mind, it seems like it's high time Lethal got his shot in the tournament as well.

Simply put, Lethal's a guy who can have a great match with anyone. He can be a great face or heel, which is great with how in New Japan, the dynamics are switched up all the time. Jay Lethal may have accomplished a lot, but the G1 still needs to be on his resume.
