10 Wrestlers That Could Be Kurt Angle's Mystery Feud

3. Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode once suffered one of the worst nights of his professional career opposite Kurt Angle, in a moment so deflating that it took an entire reinvention to break away from the stigma attached.

In the summer of 2011, Roode emerged from the damaging wreckage of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's first year with TNA to win the inaugural Bound For Glory Series. The months-long round robin tournament saw wrestlers compete for victories and points in an effort to become Number One Contender to the TNA Heavyweight Title.

That prize was held by a manipulative Kurt Angle, who was willing to do anything to keep the belt and the supposed power that came with it. Roode's ascent looked written in the stars, with an outstanding build over the summer presenting him as possibly the next big star in wrestling. Bound For Glory was to be his coronation.

It never happened. He was unceremoniously disposed of by an injured Angle holding the ropes for leverage, and forced into turning on his best friend Storm just weeks later to regain footing within the company. The period set his career back years, with only his recent NXT revival salvaging what could have been a promising career lost to TNA insanity.

Things are indeed too 'Glorious' for Roode at the moment for him to wilfully interject himself in Kurt's business. Their paths may cross again, but maybe another of Kurt's more recent rivals has been waiting for a moment to yet again strike...
