The current WCPW Heavyweight Champion has been on a tear this past year, but his path to glory could have been completely different without two very different interactions with the Olympic Gold Medallist.
Falling to Angle in a scorching encounter at last October's Refuse To Lose pay-per-view, Hendry was the biggest talking point coming out of Kurt's final match in the UK at February's True Destiny following a vicious turn on the Olympian to close the show. He'd lost against then-Champion Drew Galloway earlier in the broadcast, but his low blow on Angle set off a chain of events that ultimately lead the former 'Local Hero' to absconded glory.
Forming his 'Prestige' group in the aftermath, Hendry then took advantage of a concussed Martin Kirby to win his first WCPW Title, an honour he now shares with recent WWE signees Killian Dane, Joseph Conners, and the aforementioned Drew McIntyre. The title is proving to have something of a midas touch, and may see Hendry make the journey to renew conflicts with the Raw General Manager.
Angle is yet to wrestle for WWE since returning, but would surely see an opportunity to gain redemption for Joe's sneak attack should Hendry be the surprise adversary.
