10 Wrestlers That Got BANNED From AEW
7. Bear Boulder
It'd be horrible PR for AEW if they ever welcomed this guy back into the fold.
Lower card tag-team wrestler (with Bulk Bronson) Bear Boulder was arrested on 13 January for battery by strangulation. Police were called to Bear's home in Winter Garden, Florida amidst reports from his fiancé that she'd been "physically battered". A deputy then noted that the victim had "sustained injuries around her neck which included red marks as well scratches just below her neck just above her breast".
Police statements also noted that Boulder was remorseful for what had happened, but said his fiancé had "made some negative comments about his job and he became upset". It wasn't long after the arrest that AEW acted and terminated Bear's contract. They did so as soon as they'd learned what had happened, so there's likely no route back into the promotion for him.
Officers ruled that Boulder was to have no "hostile/violent contact with the victim" whilst an investigation was underway. That was amended from an initial no contact agreement which was waived/changed by his fiancé. Again, there's simply no logical way Tony Khan agrees to book Bear after something like this went down.
The deputy who provided a lengthy statement on the ordeal did say that "he knows what he did was not right", but that shouldn't count for much in the end. Battery by strangulation is very serious, and it just wouldn't be a good look for AEW if they re-hired somebody who'd done anything of the sort.
Bear's AEW career is in tatters.
