10 Wrestlers That Got BANNED From AEW

6. Andrade El Idolo

Speaking of bizarre situations, it's 'El Idolo'!

Andrade departed WWE on 13 September, and there were immediate reports that he'd been canned for violating the company's Wellness Policy multiple times. Then, follow up news stated that WWE had placed a staggering 1 year non-compete clause on him post-release because he'd been let go with cause. That didn't stop Andrade from showing back up on AEW TV via the 1 October edition of Dynamite.

He seemed to become the latest member of The Don Callis Family on that show, but 'El Idolo' has vanished from programming again. Now, there's talk that Tony Khan has banned his announcers from mentioning Andrade at all, but who can say for sure whether that's true or not? The situation is messy. If true, then Khan is surely only protecting himself amidst concurrent reports that WWE might try to bring Andrade back to their side.

Phewf! Got all of that?!

There's a ton of speculation surrounding the wrestler's future right now. Will he be back on Raw or SmackDown soon? Or, will Andrade be allowed to work in AEW after all? Again, nobody seems to have any ironclad answers at the moment. So, if he's banned at all then it's a fairly soft ban and could just be temporary.

It's hard to remember anything quite like this, especially during the WWE vs. AEW era. Typical non-compete clauses run for 90 days (released workers are paid for approx 3 months on the basis that they can't work for a competitor), but a full year is clearly next level.
