10 Wrestlers That Vince McMahon Hasn't Forgiven

4. Tully Blanchard

Tully Blanchard was the villain's villain, able to whip up genuine hate in the fans with a single well-placed promo or a menacing, sneering look. Other bad guys had the respect of the fans, even swerved dangerously close to 'cool heel' territory. Not Tully: he brought real heel heat to every angle he was a part of.

As with many successful wrestling personas, there was an element of truth behind the nasty swagger: from all reports, Blanchard didn't make friends easily during his active wrestling career, and wasn't the easiest person to get along with. After quarrelling with Jim Crockett and Dusty Rhodes over pay, Blanchard and Arn Anderson joined the WWF in late 1988 as the Brain Busters, working fantastic matches with the Rockers and Demolition.

On the way out after Survivor Series 1989, having negotiated a deal with WCW to return for $750,000 a year, Blanchard failed a test for cocaine and was fired early. When WCW found out, they refused to hire him, cutting Anderson's offer too (which caused years of resentment between them).

Blanchard left the business shortly afterwards, when it became apparent that no one with any money to offer would hire him. Although he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2012 as part of the Four Horsemen, he couldn't pass the interview stage with WWE to get a job as a trainer or an agent.

Many suspect it was Blanchard's reputation for being troublesome that screwed it up for him: he'd just proved to be more hassle than he was worth.
