10 Wrestlers Wasted In Their Current Promotions

3. Matt Riddle (WWE)

Matt Riddle got frostbite as a kid and so can't wrestle with boots on.

That's it, that's WWE's grand characterisation for someone who was previously a mauler in UFC and would've continued cracking skulls had he not been so fond of a joint or two. They followed up Riddle's thumping 'Fight Pit' cage war with Timothy Thatcher on NXT with some far-fetched whimsical story about cold tootsies.

Things will, hopefully, get better for Matt on SmackDown once WWE move past this frostbitten foolishness and realise that he's one hell of an athlete who deserves better. 'King' Corbin isn't a bad first feud for Riddle on Friday nights either, but he's capable of so much more and WWE needs new stars today.

They shouldn't be killing time trying to explain why Riddle wrestles barefoot. That's nowhere near as interesting as the matches he could have with the brand's top names, or as vital to his progress as being a badass everyone can get behind would be.
