10 Wrestlers We Could See In AEW Double Or Nothing's Casino Battle Royale
Which indie stars could we see going for glory in Vegas on May 25th?
All Elite Wrestling will host their first official show on 25 May when they take over the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Double or Nothing.
Already announced matches on the card include Hangman Page vs. PAC, The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Brothers, and a Wrestle Kingdom 12 rematch between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.
The show will also feature the return of the "Over Budget Battle Royale" from All In, which has now been renamed the "Casino Battle Royale" and will determine a Number One Contender for the new AEW World Championship.
The rules for this match are a little more complex than your regular battle royal: five wrestlers start in the ring and five more join them every three minutes. The 21st and final entrant enters the match alone.
Just over half of the participants have already been announced, including top indie names such as Chuck Taylor and Joey Janela, up-and-comers like MJF and Brian Pillman Jr., as well as throwbacks like former WCW "star", Glacier.
With ten spots left in the match, let's take a look at a variety of names we could see join the ranks of the battle royal, from the serious contenders to the seriously silly.
10. Angelico
AEW's most recent signing has made a big impression on the North American indie scene since he debuted back in 2009.
Adam Bridle, better known as Angelico, is most famous for his time in Lucha Underground, where he performed between the years of 2014 and 2018.
Angelico was one third of the inaugural Lucha Underground Trios Champions with Ivelisse and Son of Havoc. This combo would hold the titles twice in total before Angelico left the promotion last year.
He's also been a champion in promotions such as WXW and AAA and has gathered a pretty big fan base thanks to his high-impact, fast-paced moveset, daring feats of agility and fearlessness in the ring.
Angelico is a huge get for AEW and could easily be a major player for the brand going forward. The 32-year-old still has plenty of years in him and could be positioned as a main event star for the company if pushed correctly.
An appearance in this battle royal could be the start of that push and, if AEW are serious about making him a top star, he could even go on to win the whole thing.
