Wrestling has a rich and sometimes cringe-worthy history of including inexperienced celebrities in battle royals, but Arrow star Stephen Amell is no stranger to a wrestling ring.

The Canadian actor is a lifelong wrestling fan and first appeared for a major wrestling company in 2015, when he and Neville took on the team of Wade Barrett and Stardust (Cody Rhodes) at SummerSlam.

Amell continued to pursue his wrestling ambitions and would even join the Bullet Club faction in 2017. At AEW's precursor event, All In, Amell took part in his first ever singles match when he faced off against Christopher Daniels in a losing effort.

Amell has proven himself very capable as an in-ring performer and already has ties to AEW through his appearances alongside Cody in WWE and at All In last year.

As much as fans hate WWE for this, having celebrities involved in a wrestling show can be a great way to draw attention to the product, especially from people who don't normally watch wrestling.

Amell could be very well protected in a Battle Royal and his addition would be an interesting flavour to an already varied match.
