Arguably the best feud in wrestling over the past year has been the war between Kamaitachi and Dragon Lee in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. Previously New Japan young lion Hiromu Takahashi, Kamaitachi adopted a mask and new persona when he traveled to Mexico to hone his craft, and he soon found himself in a feud with expert high-flyer Lee.

The two battled at Homenaje a Dos Leyendas in March of 2015, where Lee won, forcing Kamaitachi to unmask. That was just the start of their rivalry, though. Lee soon won the CMLL World Lightweight Championship, and Kamaitachi began doggedly pursuing him and the title. Their excellent series of matches has, in many ways, taken cruiserweight wrestling to its next level, much like rivalries between Tiger Mask and Dynamite Kid, Jushin Liger and Naoki Sano, and Rey Mysterio and Psicosis did in years past.

Kamaitachi finally beat Dragon Lee for the belt in an amazing match at the joint New Japan/CMLL Fantasticamania tour this past January, but Lee recaptured it in March. There are no doubt many more chapters to be written between these two men, and that's for the best.
