Women's wrestling in WWE (and NXT) is currently experiencing a true renaissance, and this golden age can be traced to four women - Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley, and Becky Lynch.

Starting out in NXT together, the four ultra-talented grapplers put the brand's women's division on the map with bouts that completely outdid anything fans could see on the main roster. Whether it was Charlotte versus Bayley, Sasha versus Becky, tag matches, or a four-way bout with all of the women, they proved to fans who didn't know better than women can wrestle just as well as their male counterparts.

The high point for the so-called "Four Horsewomen" came at TakeOver: Brooklyn, when Bayley defeated Sasha to win the title in the best match in the division's history. Two months later, they headlined the next TakeOver special with a thirty-minute Iron Man match.

The success has continued on the main roster. At WrestleMania, Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky fought in a three way match for Charlotte's WWE Women's Championship. The bout was one of the best of the evening, and though Charlotte retained her title, another challenge from Sasha is clearly coming up. That match should be excellent, as should all the other combinations of matches these four women have in the future.
