10 Wrestlers Who Absolutely Love Annoying Fans
5. Jay White
New Japan’s resident jerk has been presented as a dark ace since his return from excursion in late 2017. Prodigiously talented and booked on the level of leading stars like Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito, White has taken Bullet Club villainy to a new level. From acquiring Japanese turncoats Gedo, Jado and KENTA for the traditionally foreign faction to the infuriating level of shenanigans in his matches, White attracts plentiful heat from New Japan crowds.
White’s promos are astoundingly arrogant, boasting proudly of his accomplishments as if he earned them cleanly. His disrespect for his fellow New Japan wrestlers and New Japan as a whole has made him the promotion’s most loathed foreign heel since fellow Bullet Club figurehead Prince Devitt back in 2013.
Despite great athleticism and the ability to please crowds with his high flying abilities, White has toned his ring work down. To ensure he maximises audience heat, he relies heavily on stalling, cheating and underhanded brawling before catching foes with his deadly Blade Runner finisher. The reliance on more grounded offence and limb work make him a perfect foil for many of the high energy babyfaces he is booked against. In addition, depriving the fans of eye popping moments on his part makes him that much more irritating in his role as top heel.
