10 Wrestlers Who Absolutely Love Annoying Fans
2. King Corbin
The smarks’ least favourite wrestler has been getting on viewers’ nerves since his jump to the main roster in 2016. His 2017 Money in the Bank win was greeted with groans, his burial at the hands of John Cena with cheers. Corbin would eventually bounce back from the Cena setback and cement himself as one of WWE’s leading heel acts.
His character has undergone several overhauls from the metalhead loner he initially portrayed. Briefly a critically panned authority figure, Corbin has settled in nicely as the latest King of the Ring winner. The on screen cause of Chad Gable’s catastrophic descent into being Shorty G, Corbin’s bully promos garnered jeers from WWE crowds everywhere. The jeers only got worse during his interminable program with Roman Reigns earlier this year.
Corbin’s despicable bad guy schtick is one he often plays off of on social media also, frequently butting heads with AEW fans in particular. Despite being a wrestling fan growing up, Corbin has frequently incorporated the idea that he never watched it. In doing so, his persona has become a heel embodiment of the former footballer turned wrestler trope many fans have come to roll their eyes at. Given his knack for (bordering on X-Pac) heat, don’t expect a babyface turn ever.
