10 Wrestlers Who Actually WON On The Way Out

6. Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose's last few months were in WWE weren't the best. You could argue that Jon Moxley's entire run in the world's biggest wrestling promotion left a lot to be desired, but an ill-advised heel turn and some truly awful segments put the knife into what could have been something special. When Ambrose eventually left the company, it wasn't a huge surprise.

Considering how the man had been booked in those last few months, it is somewhat surprising that WWE decided to give The Shield one last little run, although the whole thing did scream 'WWE Network Special'. Still, the history books care not for context, and Ambrose's last three matches in WWE resulted in the Hounds of Justice pulling out wins over Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. Jinder Mahal wrestled in place of Drew in one of those matches, but that is hardly an important detail.

And thus, Dean Ambrose died and Jon Moxley was born. Well, re-born, that would be more accurate, and the Death Rider has gone from strength to strength ever since. WWE definitely dropped the ball with this guy. Can we have that Hiroshi Tanahashi match sooner rather than later, please? Thank you very much.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
