10 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Promotion

5. Chad Gable

Yes, in recent months Chad Gable has been killing it alongside Otis in Alpha Academy, but one good story doesn’t make up for years of neglect. There is no reason why the former Olympian shouldn’t be Kurt Angle 2.0 by now, suplexing chumps at will and competing for titles in singles matches that matter. As great as Chad Gable is right now, we had to wade through sh*t like Shorty G to get here.

Of all the ‘imagine how good so and so would be in a G1’ names featured here, none are as tantalising a prospect as Chad Gable. The multi-time tag team champion would be an absolute don in NJPW, and the list of potential bangers is practically never-ending. New Japan fans appreciate a dude who knows what he’s doing in the ring, and few professionals are as crisp as Chad Gable. Zack Sabre Jr. vs Chad Gable (or Chas Betts, inevitably) must happen, it must.

Chad Gable would be a great fit in any pro wrestling promotion on the planet, but the prospect of him tearing it up in New Japan with guys like Jeff Cobb, Minoru Suzuki, Tomohiro Ishii and the aforementioned ZSJ is just too delicious.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
