10 Wrestlers Who Came Crawling Back To WWE
9. Shane McMahon
Shane McMahon's 2016 return was an unusual case of the McMahon Family accurately reading the room when it came to outside takes on themselves.
The February 22nd edition of Monday Night Raw kicked off with Vince McMahon attempting to present a Vince McMahon Sr Humanitarian Award to his daughter Stephanie McMahon. Bullsh*t on top of b*llocks that wouldn't have flown had it not been for the blockbuster payoff they had in store.
Landing back on screens for the first time in over six years, 'The Money' proved his worth as the most popular member of the family with a monster pop and a posited match that sold tens of thousands of extra tickets for that year's WrestleMania.
Absence makes the heart grow fondest in wrestling, and never had this been any clearer. He overfed himself to folk in the years that followed (McMahons always do), but it was still shocking to hear that his egomaniacal Royal Rumble 2022 performance had partially resulted in his release. The 2028 comeback angle is probably already in the works.
