10 Wrestlers Who Could Debut (Or Return) On AEW Collision

A favoured guess for the AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door 2 match card is that of an AEW Women's World title bout pitting Jamie Hayter, the champion as of press time, against Mercedes Moné.

But Moné must appear beforehand.

Last year, the build to the inaugural Forbidden Door was critically hampered by a lack of NJPW talent on AEW programming in the build to the auspicious pay-per-view. Kazuchika Okada, for instance, only rocked up on the last Dynamite before Forbidden Door; promoting an Okada bout on this Dynamite following his debut the week before would've proven more opportune.

Such is the case with Mercedes Moné. A recent Fightful Select report indicated that Mercedes isn't expected back in Japan "for a while" following her aforementioned loss of NJPW's Women's title on 23 April to Mayu Iwatani. She will, however, be competing in North America imminently, competing in a four-woman tournament for the newly-introduced STRONG Women's title on 21 May. This only adds further substance to the fire that is her sanguine AEW debut, and thus having the former IWGP Women's Champion arrive on the 17 June Collision, ideally by Hayter, before wrestling on the 24 June Collision ahead of Moné vs. Hayter the day after is a succinct piece of booking that Tony Khan is routinely known for.
