10 Wrestlers Who Could Give CM Punk His First AEW Loss
5. Keith Lee
There’s an obvious stumbling block here: at time of writing, Keith Lee is not employed by All Elite Wrestling. He’ll surely wind up somewhere, though, and for whoever hires him, the first course of action would be to look at the ridiculous blunders WWE made and to do the exact opposite.
Chief among said blunders was not treating Keith Lee like a big deal on the main roster. This is a guy with incredible upside and remarkable athleticism who should be right around the title picture. AEW have the chance for a do-over should they convince the former NXT champ to sign on the dotted line.
And what better a statement of intent than to have Lee show up, do his thing, and dish out a beating to the most prominent and protected man in the whole company? Punk has a track record of putting on great matches with bigger opponents - Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar - and he’d be the perfect opponent to make Lee look like the real deal.
To see Lee back in wrestling at all after the depressing end to his WWE run would be great. To see him do so in the manner befitting a top talent would be magical.
