10 Wrestlers Who Could Retire John Cena In 2022
8. Brock Lesnar
OK, this would be a bit of a boring choice, and perhaps similarly wasteful to Lesnar being the one to break Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak. Brock definitely doesn’t need the rub that comes from besting his old foe one last time.
On the other hand, it’s a scientific fact that it’s very, very fun to see Brock Lesnar absolutely batter John Cena for the duration of a match. Their SummerSlam 2014 bout remains one of WWE’s boldest decisions in recent memory, and the two have always had impeccable chemistry, with Lesnar equally willing to sell for Cena as the story dictates.
Not unlike the ‘Mania XXX situation, Lesnar also stands as one of the few stars who could entirely believably be the one to stomp Cena out of the business. While the glory probably should go to someone who needs it, there is the risk of permanently damaging a newer star if they’re not ready for the spotlight. Lesnar is a lab-built John Cena-destroying machine.
If done badly this could be a groanworthy choice, but before the pair of future hall of famers throw in the towel, we’d like to see them go at it in a silly, brutal fashion once more.
