10 Wrestlers Who DESPERATELY Need Something New In 2026

9. Josh Briggs

The only time Josh Briggs has felt natural and gotten over with the crowd in NXT was when he was teaming with Brooks Jensen and in a faction with Fallon Henley and Kiana James, and hasn't recovered since that breakup.

In 2024, Briggs was given the obligatory heel turn to focus on singles competition, but it didn't take. Unfortunately, WWE tried to just hit the reset button and do the same idea a second time.

After teaming with Yoshiki Inamura as babyfaces, he turned on his partner, feuded with him, and quickly found himself back in the same rut as before as a singles heel as a big guy who loses to other people.

That's all his character is: a generic tough guy who complains that he sucks. He just happens to have a smoking skull on his shoulder as well, which nobody seems to care about. That doesn't give him any real personality.

Whether it's a new tag team partner, a shift to the main roster under different writers, or just trying different characters until something sticks, if Briggs keeps this same act going throughout 2026, he'll eventually be considered a lost cause, and he's better than that.
