10 Wrestlers Who Don't Fit WWE's New Era

2. Randy Orton

Randy Orton is due to return from his annual injury break any time soon, and there is plenty of intrigue surrounding which role he will return in. Orton has been out of action since October of last year, when he seemed to be embarking on a feud with Bray Wyatt and his dastardly group of hirsute henchmen.

With Wyatt also on the shelf it is unlikely that feud will be reprised, but does it truly matter? Orton has been a top level performer in WWE for over a decade now, winning everything there is to win and creating his own legacy (yes, intended) in the process.

Change is imminent though, and Orton's place at the top table of the New Era is certainly in jeopardy. Of course, he has value in that superstars of his calibre are needed to create the main event performers of the new present, but Orton is one of two poster boys for the era that is being laid to rest.

You can't start a new era with the figurehead of the previous one still front and centre.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
