10 Wrestlers Who Fell Off The Face Of The Earth

1. Ahmed Johnson Vanishes

Nobody can claim Ahmed Johnson was the best wrestler inside the ring, but the big Mississippian did have natural and explosive charisma, endearing himself immediately to wrestling fans in the mid-90's. It's obvious when looking back at the then-WWF's booking of the guy that they had high hopes he'd launch into the main event scene, but outside of a few flourishes, Johnson was simply too injury-prone to be considered worthy of a sustained top line run. Reckless inside the ring, Ahmed was at times a danger to both his opponent and himself, but it can't be denied that he had something which made fans want to watch him. Even as far on in his run as mid-1997, when Johnson had turned heel and joined The Nation Of Domination, he was considered a viable opponent for the WWF Champion, The Undertaker. Injury would once again stop such a title match from happening, and Johnson would suddenly vanish from screens in 1998, only later appearing sporadically in WCW. Fans were left confused by Ahmed's departure, but later interviews had the man revealing that he left the spotlight not because of injury, but because he wanted to take care of his sister, who was suffering from illness.
