10 Wrestlers Who Got Injured At The Worst Possible Time

4. Goldberg

When the nWo reformed the night after Starrcade 1999 - helmed by Goldberg's former friend, Bret Hart - "Da Man" was irate. He spent the following episode of Thunder trying to hunt the stable down one by one, ending with WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hart. It didn't go as planned - Hart escaped in a limousine, and a frustrated Goldberg could only take his anger out on a parked car. It also didn't go as planned because Goldberg was supposed to use a concealed pipe to smash the car's windows, and when he dropped it he used his bare hands - severing a tendon in the process. Goldberg lost a lot of blood and almost needed his arm amputated. The injury kept him out of action for six months and led to what was, at the time, WCW's least successful period ever. The gulf between WCW and WWE turned into a chasm, and WCW never recovered. It's not fair to say that Goldberg's presence would have saved WCW - especially given how badly he was used when he returned - but losing the biggest star in the company for six months during a period of floundering is certainly bad timing.
