10 Wrestlers Who Got TERRIBLE Advice From WWE

1. Steve Austin Shouldn’t Talk (At All)

Steve Austin is one of the best talkers in wrestling history.

That's obvious to anybody who has ever watched his work as 'Stone Cold', and it should've even been clear to those who checked him out in WCW or ECW. Apparently, nobody in the WWF gave a hoot about what was happening in Atlanta or Philadelphia, which is why Austin was told not to talk when he signed for the fed in 1995.

Instead, Vince McMahon handed Austin a manager. Ted DiBiase, himself a tremendous promo man, would do all the talking for Steve, and that was that. Austin knew this was crap, and he must've been horrified when he was constantly reminded never to interrupt Ted or even open his mouth at all.

The guy had just found his mojo as a talker in ECW (thanks to Paul Heyman's prodding), and here was acting mute. The WWF's opinion on that would change following Austin's King Of The Ring '96 win. It was about time too.
