2. Chyna Wants 'Stone Cold Money'

Jim Ross was very careful to explain his amazement over this one on his 'Grilling JR' pod.

In 2000, Chyna's contract was coming up for renewal and the WWF were eager to secure a similar deal to the one that had just lapsed. The 'Ninth Wonder Of The World' had other ideas though - she believed she should be getting the exact same cash as head boy Steve Austin, and noted that being female made her an even more unique attraction.

Ross turned the notion down flat and said he shouldn't bother taking that to Vince McMahon, because the boss wouldn't entertain it. Nobody, after merchandising payments and other performance-related bonuses, was on a level financial playing field with 'Stone Cold', let alone somebody who wasn't in the main event scene.

Chyna was annoyed that the WWF wouldn't negotiate that high. JR was also mindful that she was going through some personal problems with Triple H at the time, and was probably trying to snare back some self-confidence. Even so, she wasn't getting 'Stone Cold money'.
