9. Brock Lesnar's Wellness Policy Exemption

WWE have bent over backwards to placate Brock Lesnar. They recognise him as one of the most successful crossover athletes in history, know full-well that he retains some mainstream appeal and are apparently happy to let Brock flaunt their otherwise essential Wellness Policy.

At least, they were, but it's hard to imagine much has changed in this respect during contractual renewals since 2016. Shortly after that year's UFC 200, Lesnar was in the news for failing a drugs test with the MMA giant. Fans eagerly awaited WWE's punishment. They kept waiting, then waited some more.

The promotion ignored their own policy seemingly for two reasons.

One, they had a huge pay-per-view main event between Brock and Randy Orton at SummerSlam to promote. Two, Lesnar was technically exempt from the Policy due to his status as a part-time worker. WWE claimed that Wellness was only applicable to full-timers, meaning Lesnar's side had engineered some privileged exception.
