Shawn Michaels knows all about "privileged exception".

There are countless reports of him acting out in front of Vince McMahon without repercussion in the '90s. Michaels' fans might point to his world-class skills as a reason to let it slide, whereas HBK haters would say that he regularly acted like a spoilt child when things didn't go his way or he was asked to do the J.O.B.

Jim Cornette has criticised Shawn on his podcast for the insanity that led up to his match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV. According to Cornette, Michaels began making a bizarre series of demands to the WWF, and things got ridiculous. At one point, he even ordered that the company provide him with "special security" for the weekend.

Nobody had any idea what that meant, and neither did Shawn when pressed. It looked like he was trying to be difficult for the sake of it (he also reportedly pulled the old 'bowl of M&Ms' trick - two red for every blue) or attempting to sabotage the planned title change.
