10 Wrestlers Who Perfected A Finisher On Its Owner
5. Chris Jericho Knows Some Sweet Chin Music
What more is there to say about two of the greatest performers of each of their generations?
Long before their rivalry was cemented by a 2008 blood feud, the two faced off in a battle of who was simply 'better': the younger Chris Jericho (32) or the 'old' Shawn Michaels (37). Fast forward through a weekly game of oneupmanship and we got to WrestleMania XIX with the two determined to steal the show (which many proclaimed they did).
Jam-packed with enough melodrama and mastery of movements to ignite a fire in even the coldest of souls, Jericho and Michaels had an answer for each other's offense at every corner - also, the selling of each star is still worth studying today.
As we entered the closing stages of the bout, Jericho turned the dickishness dial up to 100 and proceeded to mock Michaels with HBK's own gestures and signature kick-up, yet the worst was still to come.
Jericho had demonstrated his supreme wrestling standards throughout the match but opted to (super) kick dirt into the legend's face as the optimum seal of disregard for his foe.
It pained many to believe that Jericho pulled off the Sweet Chin Music with more precision and velocity than the man who birthed the tuning up of the band.
Michaels may have sealed the win in the end, however Jericho's variation of the finisher connected Michaels' face with the back off his heel - as supposed to the base of the foot - and the move oozed a viciousness worth remembering.
