10 Wrestlers Who Refused To Give Fans What They Came For

Vince Russo's WCW tenure pretty much never gave fans what they wanted.

At least, it sure seemed that way. Russo's product is remembered for counterproductive decisions, endless 'On A Pole' matches and swerves for the sake of it. That's why he's credited with "killing" the company, and it's why some of his better ideas (pushing Booker T, for example) get overlooked.

In June 2000, Russo hatched his most dire plan yet. He turned ass-kicking machine and all-round babyface hero Goldberg heel at Great American Bash. SURPRISE! Or, maybe not. Perhaps big Bill was always going to turn bad at some point, but he shouldn't have - fans wanted to see him run all over Vinnie Ru's New Blood faction instead.

Without warning, Goldberg went from fire-breathing dragon to hired gun. It sucked, and everyone knew it. Turning heel is a decision even he'd come to regret years later when looking back on the final year of his WCW career.
