10 Wrestlers Who Seriously Started To Believe Their Own Hype

3. Buff Bagwell

Let's face it, it was only a matter of time before Buff Bagwell appeared on this list! Currently making a living for himself as a male stripper, Bagwell's wrestling career was even more colourful than that particular vocation, which is really saying something. There was a time when the guy seemed destined to become a top star in WCW, and he was an important part of the roster, but his attitude would come back to bite him in a big way. It's difficult to put into words without outright bashing the man, but Bagwell seems to operate on his own mental level, one which simply doesn't fit in with pretty much anyone else. Sure, he had a great look, wasn't a bad wrestler and could talk when given the chance, but somewhere along the line Buff seemed to forget that pro wrestling is a work. There's absolutely no excuse for taking your peers for granted, in any profession, but that's what Bagwell did once he made it to the WWF. Ruining his chances at making a decent first impression, Buff even had his mother call up WWF offices to tell them he wouldn't be able to make bookings due to illness, an incident which had Jim Ross experiencing everything from anger to utter bemusement.
