10 Wrestlers Who Should Switch Companies
2. Jade Cargill (WWE to AEW)
It all seemed to make sense.
In September 2023 Jade Cargill had rejected a new contract with AEW and had left behind her beginnings in Jacksonville and gone to the WWE. The general consensus among wrestling fans was that this would be the ideal move as Jade would now be taught how to 'wrestle properly'. All those rough edges that were sometime apparent in her AEW days would be smoothed out once she landed in WWE's Performance Center.
Eighteen months in however and it really hasn't turned out like that. Jade does and always has looked every inch a professional wrestler but there are some moments that ability deserts her and things start to fall apart. Her recent tag team with Bianca Belair seemed designed to allow Jade to develop in a pairing rather than have the whole spotlight on her. More recently however she has taken time out in kayfabe due to being attacked backstage by Naomi. The resulted match at WrestleMania 41 was met with a tepid reception however. Wrestling fandom holds their collective breath with the prospect of Jade facing off with Tiffany Stratton in the very near future.
AEW might well be a smaller pool than WWE but this always worked to Jade's advantage. She always looked like a dominant force in Jacksonville and the rougher edges of her performances were always forgiven more easily due to not being part of the WWE machine and having that ever present glare upon her. A storm would surely be coming for AEW.
